I always feel convicted by the scripture (Luke 12:48b CEB) “…Much will be demanded from everyone who has been given much, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be asked”. As I reflect on the year, I think about all that God has done in my life and for my family. Good job, good health, growing family. But I also think about the many tragedies that others have experienced; loss of life, health, and property. Only by God’s grace, was I spared from such grief and pain. Not only I, but many of you as well.
Therefore, the end of the year is a good time to reassess how well I was able to fulfill the service that God required of me, and the support my family and social network asked of me. There were times I fell short, but on the other hand, I did do a lot of things in service to God and others. I went the extra mile and made sacrifices of my time, my talent, and my treasure numerous times. I take pride in the fact that I forged ahead more than I retreated.
As God continues to bless me (and you), He expects more of me and you! So, as this year ends, join me and take a moment to reassess how much you have done for God and others; because to whom much is given, much is required!
Have a Blessed New Year!
